Not pleased with service

Back in August 2003, I listed my timeshare (Oak Plantation in FL) with RII Stroman. and paid $499 as a one time up front charge. I tried calling and writing to them several months later about any progress and every other month for a year. NO RESPONSE AT ALL! After they cashed my check, I never heard from them again. Neither did I ever see any listing of my timeshare on their website. It is now March 2017. RII Stroman is still in business! However even though I will again be trying to rid myself of the timeshare burden, I plan on going through a real estate lawyer of my personal acquaintance.

Stroman Realty, Inc. aka Timeshare Resale Broker

I received a flyer from this company that did not mention the name Stroman Realty, Inc. anywhere and the name Timeshare Resale Broker was the only name that appeared. I only saw the name Stroman Realty on the bank charge to my credit card that the agent ran immediately after I spoke to him, before I was sent a contract to sign and even before I provided him with the timeshare account or deed information. To date this company does not have a signed contract by me authorizing it to sell the timeshare. Nor do they have details from the deed. Nevertheless they are refusing to refund the charge. This company works by asking for a credit card number first with a promise to send their company information and a contract in lieu of charging for the service. But the agent, Charlie Horton ran the charge immediately before sending anything! When I saw the name Stroman on the bank charge, a google search produced two pages of complaints and a negative Better Business Bureau rating. I immediately called several times and left messages to refund the charge but with no response. Then I filed a claim with my bank agent who initiated a call to Charlie Horton while listening in on the line as I left another message asking for a refund. He has yet to voluntarily refund it. However I am confident my bank will reverse the charge after their investigation is completed.

I called and spoke with Karri Larson @180*-733-**** x6151 - I was told I wou;d receive an email, followed by documents in the mail to fill out. It has now been 4 months, a number of calls and no return calls of any type to try and help me sell my timeshare. They were quick to take my $499 but after that, no one bothered to help me. How do I get my money back?????? It is very sad they were so quick to "help", but now I see they were quick to take my family's money. Who can I contact to speak with a live person and get this matter settled once and for all?

Sell of Timeshare = Conroe, TX

I received a flyer from this company through the mail about selling timeshares. I contacted them and had discussions over the phone and through e-mail about the possibility of selling my timeshare in LasVegas. They assured me that the timeshare I had was lucrative and that they had buyers. They also said that the timeshare I had would move quickly. We communicated daily through e-mail or phone in order to get the paperwork all completed. I completed the paperwork and submitted the $599.00 fee. I was a little skeptical from the beginning, but felt reassured after the communication with them. I should have remained skeptical since I haven't never heard a word from them since!!!

Stroman Realty AKA Timeshare Resale Broker

Since this company is not a member of the BBB, I went one step further! BINGO! I have received several letters in the mail over the years from Timeshare Resale Broker. I spoke with a Mary Brooks at length yesterday about selling a timeshare. It sounded legit until she wanted $599 up front for advertising the timeshare. Whenever a company is soliciting for up-front money, listen to your internal alarm! That's when I started looking at BBB. This company is not BBB accredited. After having read the other reviews about this company, I am definitely ending any future conversations and dealings with them. It is so important to research companies BEFORE you fork over money and/or information! SELLER BEWARE!

Short Review on May&nbs-04:00;20,&nbs-04:00;2016

I didn't know everything about this company until now. I put my timeshare up last year in October. The same thing they told everyone else about having the timeshare sold immediately. After numerous of times trying to contact them no response until a week later explain that they are during follow up with a potential buyer. Now I know it is a lies and this company specialize in scamming.

Stroman Realty - Property Review from Arlington, Texas

Where do i start, I wish I had of reviewed the BBB web review before paying my $500.00 advertisement fee. I was redirected to review some other website for realistate reviews about Stroman Realty. Prior to given the money I received phone calls and follow up. This all began in June and its now November. The only time I heard anything from them is when I left a voicemail informing I was taking the property off the market. I have officially decided To just keep the property. The reassurance the property would be sold by now is not accurate. I really wish i reviewed everything. I even called the agent about the reviews. I encourage people dont use this company AT ALL

Timeshare resale company

Run, don't walk and do it as fast as you can. Extraordinarily aggressive salesman who would not take "We are not interested and I don't want to waste your time" as an answer. He talked over me and refused to acknowledge that I was not interested. I finally hung up. He had the audacity to call back. I did not answer the phone but he left an extremely rude message suggesting that I lacked intelligence. He was unbelievably sexist; if you are a woman, you do not want to have anything to do with this company. I wouldn't use this company if they agreed to pay me for our timeshare. Their salesperson has some serious issues. C Hampton

I too was a sucker with this company. I wish I did my due diligence before losing my money.

I forked over my money and haven't heard a word since on any interest of the sale of my timeshares. It's a joke and joke was at my expense.

Horrible company

Called them because they sent a letter offering to help me sell my time share, lady I spoke with was a total b!?%h! Did not seem interested in helping nor directing me to a place for help she continued to harass me and argued with me that iI did not own the property when I clearly had a deed and title, she then told me to Call someone else I was shocked... Horrible attitude ... Absolutely do not use this company! They deserve to go under and go out of business. Call your local chamber of Commerce to get info on selling your time share or vacation property at least it's legit.

RII STROMAN LIED TO ME

If anyone has ever been lied to they can understand just how pissed off I am at this company. I made the mistake of purchasing a time share with a lifetime supply of Maintenance Fees, yes that was my fault. So I turned to this company Rii Stroman Realty who promised and guaranteed they would sell my timeshare in a matter of weeks. I was hesitant at first but given my situation and my desperation, I gave in to the lies and deceit of these evil sales people. I paid $300.00 after talking down the original price of $600.00 to these corrupt people. They sent me a couple of emails and I never heard from them again. After doing a little research I found out there are a bunch of these companies extracting millions of dollars from innocent customers like myself. It's a *** shame that this company has been in business for over 26 years and states they have "set the standard for performance in the resort timeshare resales industry." So basically that means they are the King of Scam Artists. Best of luck to anyone trying to get their refund. After 4 years, I'm still trying to get mine...

Checked out the company. In business since 1979.

Perfect record. What did they buy that was not good so they wanted refund?

Agreed with this poster; we got taken several times. Finally gave our time share away just to get out; maybe can claim a loss against any gains on 1040.

All these companies are shisters.

Stroman Realty is a rip off and liars!!

I was contacted by this firm after I had done a search on timeshare resellers.. I was then promised that my timeshare was going into an auction that same day and they had to have the $299 advertising fee right then to get it into the auction that was about to start.. Nothing but a bunch of BS and lies!! I called back immediately and said to cancel the transaction as I was going to keep my timeshare for the time being and to refund my $299.. I have also emailed with the same information, however I have not received a return call or email.. What I received instead is a package in the mail requesting ALL the details about my timeshare, including a copy of the Deed of Trust from Chicago Title and my membership number, and virtually full access to my timeshare so they can steal my points!! DO NOT DEAL with these people under any circumstances!! They just add insult to injury you have already received by getting scammed into the timeshare in the first place!! The whole timeshare industry is a MAJOR bed of scammers and liars.. They tell you you can have it refinanced by your bank when you get back home, THAT IS A COMPLETE LIE!! No one will refinance it for you so you are now stuck with this absurd interest rate unless you can just pay it off cash!! The whole industry is a horrible bed of lies.. JUST DON'T GET INVOLVED AT ALL.. And if you think you want a timeshare, I have a GREAT one in Hawaii, no restrictions, any time of the year, on most of the islands that I'll let you have for 20K cash!! Hey, that's a bargain!! They will sell it to you for 52K in Honolulu..

Rude & Demeaning Sales Representative, False Advertising

Stroman's advertising does not include their so called advertising fees. In the notification email I received it inferred a commission only sale and listed commissions from 25% to 48%. There was no mention of advertising fees. When I responded to their email, under their comments section it only allowed 150 words max. It took all of the word allowance to answer their questions about my time share property. I told the salesman Charlie that I wans't interested in selling my time share if they charged upfront fees and that was the bottom line. Charlie said their are no bottom lines and that I was not living in the real world. I finally had to handup on this Charlie guy ext 6129. He called back immediately and challenged my sanity. I told him to F off and hung up. I've received several demeaning emails from Charlie@***n that are personally directed at me which are very derogotory and demeaning. I will be referring the matter to the BBB also. Jerry Weaver

Never even provided a correct web listing for my timeshare

In case you don't believe the others...I was ripped off in 2008. They never provided the website they promised...never sold the timeshare...never did ANY of the things they promised. They ripped me off for the funds and did NOTHING. If you succumb to their offer after reading all these entries that tell you they are a rip off company, then it's your own fault! I made more than a dozen efforts to get them to deliver...with no response. I made contact via email, postal service, phone, and fax. NOTHING! I have documentation of every contact I made. Obviously, I'm STILL ticked off! I don't know how they stay in business.

Stroman Timeshare sales lied and ripped us off

This company is nothing but a fraud. They promise to sell these properties and cannot deliver. They are only a ad company. I wish I had never spole with them. I have found that all of these companies are the same. I think timeshares are a rip off. They also stated that people are giving them away. There should be a better way to get rid of these costly beast. We are almost bankrupt, with job losses and need to get our money back. I have spoke with this company to no avail. All I hear is lies lies and then some more lies.

Timeshare sales

Word to those trying to sell... do not pay anthing up-front. It is an "advertising fee" for $500 or more, yet you can do the same thing through most realtors for about 10% of that. You will STILL need to pay escrow fees and commissions, so your best bet is to avoid places like RII Stroman and SleeMyTimeshareNow.com and go with a local broker. Also, if you paid $12000 for a timeshare 20 years ago and think it's worth that now, try 20-25% of that. In other words, if you are going to buy a timeshare, don't buy from the developer, buy used.

In our research we called many Realtors and found none to be interested in selling a time share. Few brokers even handle them and they must be experianced in the industry which is worldwide.

This company says they have sold time shares in 27 countries so they must be experianced. As for what was said about the values of them we find that few if any go up in value and most brokers charge more commission than this one.

Sellers pay commission through a timeshare sale using Stroman. Not closing costs!

Try calling your local Realtor to sell your timeshare! Ha!

What a joke of a company! Got letter in mail they would pay cash for our timeshare, when I called they said I miss read the Letter. When I called to inquire they told me they don't actually buy them the sell them for me. I said well do you charge ahead of time or when the property sell? He said ignorance is bliss keep your property. What great customer service. Steer clear of this weird company. They are very unprofessional. Instead of offering to explain it to me they opted to insult. Makes you wonder if they ever sell anything being that rude.

We read the letter and it did not say "they would pay cash for timeshare" This company offers timeshare sales assistance by licensed agent personel. Posts claims of selling, closing and funding over $100,000,000.00 in timeshare sales from a seller to a timeshare buyer.
